A furrowed brow can lend a tired or angry countenance to the face. Lifting the brow provides a smoother, more alert look.
Many people seek brow lift surgery to correct the appearance of frown lines, which are deep vertical furrows between the eyebrows that cause us to look worried or stressed out. Another common reason for brow lift surgery is to correct a sagging forehead or brows that hang too low and too close to the eyes.
Brow-repositioning is an outpatient procedure that only requires small incisions disguised in the hairline. These incisions allow Dr. Montegut to reposition the underlying muscle to achieve the desired results. This minimally invasive technique results in less bruising and swelling resulting in a much quicker recovery time.
By surgically lifting the brow or forehead, Newport Beach plastic surgeon Dr. Montegut can give a more youthful and rested appearance to your upper face, helping you to look years younger.
Browlift surgery is done on an outpatient basis in our Newport Beach facility either under monitored sedation. The incisions are usually made behind the hairline. For patients with high foreheads, the incisions can be placed in front of the hairline. The operation is done using small special instruments. The forehead skin is lifted and repositioned and muscles that cause frown lines are weakened.
Patients return home with dressings that are usually removed on the first or second day after surgery. Initial discomfort is easily controlled with oral medication. Sutures are removed within 10 days and most swelling and bruising resolve within a few days.
